Questions I get in DMs
The fine print, in plain words, from someone who pays for it. Then a two-minute way to decide for yourself instead of taking my word for it.
If you'll order more than once, VIP. The $20 coupon pays back the $10 signup on its own. If you're buying one bottle to see if you like it, buy retail. That's the whole decision. The rest of this page is the fine print so you can check me. @heykayandco
I get this question more than any other, and the reason is that VIP sounds like a membership and people have been burned by memberships. Fair. So here is exactly what it is, exactly what it costs, and how to get out of it, before you decide anything.

| Signup | $10. Once. Not yearly. |
|---|---|
| Coupon back | $20, sent when you sign up, good on your next regular or Flexship order. So the signup nets you $10 ahead. |
| VIP price | About 15 to 20% under retail, depending on the product. Both prices show on every product page, so you can see the exact number before you buy. |
| First order | $84 or more. |
| Flexship | One more order you set up for later. Also $84 or more. You pick what's in it and when it ships, every 30 or 60 days. |
| Changing it | Move the date, swap the products, pause it, or cancel it yourself from your account. No phone call. |
| Returns | 30 days on anything. |
| Don't want VIP? | Buy retail. Same link, skip the signup. |
The thing people miss is the Flexship. It isn't a surprise charge if you know it's there, and it isn't a surprise charge if you move it. It is a surprise charge if you forget about it, so set a reminder the day you sign up. That's the only trap on this page, and now you know where it is.
If you'd order more than once, VIP wins by a lot. If you wouldn't, retail. There is no third answer.
For me it was never close, because the wash day routine is the same four bottles every time and I run out of them on a schedule. I set the Flexship to the products I was going to buy anyway and stopped thinking about it.
If you want to try the oil or the dry shampoo and see what your hair does, buy it retail. Decide about VIP after you've used it for a month.
If a reminder on your phone isn't going to happen, the Flexship will eventually ship when you weren't ready. Retail costs more per bottle and has no calendar.
You already know which products you're using, you'd reorder two or more times a year, and you can set one reminder. That's most people who've been using the same routine for a while, and it's where the savings add up without you doing anything.
If you're not sure which products that would be, that's the question to answer first, and it's the one I'm happy to help with. Tell me your hair type and what's bugging you and I'll build the list.
DM me HEYKAY on Instagram. Tell me your hair type and what's going on, and I'll build the cart, VIP or retail, whichever the math says.
What does VIP cost?
$10 to sign up, once, and a $20 coupon back for your next order. First order $84 or more. One Flexship set up for later, also $84 or more. VIP pricing is about 15 to 20% under retail.
What is a Flexship?
A future order you set up when you join. You pick what's in it and when it ships, every 30 or 60 days. Change it from your account whenever you want.
Can I cancel it myself?
Yes. Move it, pause it, or cancel it from your account. No phone call. 30-day returns on anything.
Do I have to join VIP to buy?
No. Every link on my shelf works retail. Same link, skip the signup.
Is VIP or retail cheaper?
If you'll order more than once, VIP. The $20 coupon covers the $10 signup by itself, and every order after is about 15 to 20% under retail, roughly $13 to $17 on an $84 order.
